Description
The Airfix Focke-Wulf Fw190A-8/F-8 is a highly popular 1:72 scale plastic model kit that allows you to build one of two distinct variants of Nazi Germany’s famous WWII radial-engine fighter. Released with refreshed decal options, this Skill Level 1 kit features 74 pieces and builds into a replica with a 145mm wingspan and 125mm fuselage length.
Kit Build Options
The box includes the specific parts required to replicate the design differences between the two targeted variants:
- Fw190A-8 (Fighter): Recreates the most heavily produced, heavily armed variant optimized for intercepting Allied bomber streams in 1944. It retains the standard hard-hitting outboard wing cannons.
- Fw190F-8 (Ground-Attack): Recreates the battlefield close-support variant. It omits the outboard cannons to save weight and includes specialized ordnance options—specifically a single centerline fuselage bomb and four smaller wing-mounted bombs.
Included Marking Schemes
The kit comes with high-quality decals to complete one of two historical aircraft:
- Fw190A-8: Flown by Gruppenkommandeur Major Karl Kennel, Stab II./SG2, based in Kummer, Bohemia, May 1945.
- Fw190F-8: Assigned to Block, Stab II./Schlachtgeschwader 4, operating on the Eastern Front during 1944.
