The Academy 1/35 Sturmgeschütz IV Plastic Model Kit is available in two distinct boxings that represent very different eras of the manufacturer’s tooling: the legacy, highly budget-friendly classic kit (Kit No. 13235) and the completely modernised, high-fidelity Early Version release. Both replicate the low-profile German assault gun built by mounting a StuG III superstructure onto a Panzer IV tank chassis.
Kit Variations & Tooling Differences
    • The New Tool (Kit 13522 – Early Version): Released with newly engineered moulds. It features a multi-part lower hull engineered for true-to-scale strength, beautifully crisp weld seams, structural overlays to eliminate visible motorisation holes, and sharply defined suspension leaves.
    • The Classic Tool (Kit 13235): A reissue of an older motorised-era layout. While highly affordable and simple to assemble, the details on the wheels and tools are more rounded, and the lower hull bathtub features open motorization slots underneath.

    • Armament Details: Includes a multi-piece 7.5cm StuK L/48 main gun assembly paired with a posable MG34 machine gun and a flip-up gunner’s defensive shield.
    • Posable Crew Hatches: The commander’s cupola and loader’s hatches are separate pieces that can be glued completely open or closed.
    • Tracks & Rigging: Packed with flexible continuous vinyl rubber-band tracks featuring realistic solid guide horns, along with real twine string to route the vehicle’s tow ropes. 
    • Side Armor Brackets: Includes structural injection-moulded mounting racks to house Schürzen side armour panels.
