Description

The Meng 1/35 Pickup w/ZPU-1 Plastic Model Kit is a highly regarded 1/35 scale military miniature kit that replicates a modern insurgent/paramilitary “technical”. Released as the debut model kit from Meng Models, the unbadged vehicle directly represents a 1997 Toyota HiLux 4×4 Dual Cab SR5 repurposed as an improvised fighting vehicle.
Kit Anatomy & Technical Details
    • Completed Dimensions: 133mm (Length) x 57mm (Width) x 51mm (Height).
    • The Main Armament: Includes a highly detailed Soviet-designed ZPU-1 14.5mm heavy anti-aircraft machine gun mounted into the open rear cargo bay. The kit offers two distinct barrel design choices.
    • Chassis & Body: The main cab shell is uniquely moulded as a solid one-piece body component with a separate hood and rear tray floor. The front wheels can be positioned straight or built at a steered turning angle.
    • Bonus Figure: Ships with a single standalone seated insurgent/gunner figure designed to operate the anti-aircraft gun mount.
    • Parts Variety: Packaged with a mix of white plastic (outer body shell), grey plastic (interior cabin structures), and black plastic (undercarriage and ZPU-1 sprue), alongside soft rubber vinyl tyres and fine photo-etched metal detailing parts.

Build Versatility
The kit provides complete assembly instructions for two distinct variations:
